46 Fallen Soldiers
Forty-six Nigerian soldiers were killed in horrific car accident while returning from a peacekeeping intervention in Darfur. Their vehicle apparently collided with an oil tanker heavy with petroleum products and exploded into flames. Of the soldiers on the vehicle, five sustained less than fatal injuries and are being tended to in a hospital.

Woeful Conflagration Engulfs Lagos Street
A project on a local road in Lagos took a turn for the worst, Thursday, as a bulldozer uprooted an oil pipeline, setting off a massive fire that left 39 people dead. Among the dead were school children. More people were either missing or injured, while, at least 16 buildings and over 20 make shift home were incensed. Some have estimated that the casualty count is around 100 people and some families were rendered homeless. The construction worker was working on the Ijegun - Iseri Osun - Jakande Estate, Isolo road.
